Phew!

Aaron's new shirt This weekend is monumental to me because I finally finished Aaron’s shirt. This is the first item in my challenge, and boy was it challenging! Literally everything on the shirt had to be done twice, except for the bottom hem. It’s taken me a month, but I’ve learned a lot on the way. He now wants 2 more, a white one and a patterned one, but I think he’ll have to wait for me to recover a bit first!

I’m also rather excited by finding the most awesome book ever - Baby Stuff by Aranzi Aronzo - I love cute things, and it’s all craft with the sweetest instructions by a cartoon rabbit! Yay, time for more cute baby pressies!!!

An active eco weekend

This last weekend while Aaron was doing woodwork projects and music, I nipped off to stay at my sisters to spend the day at local fairs and the Eco Village, and then the next day at some markets leading donkeys and the Greenfest. I really love summer here, so many fairs and fetes on, long days and al fresco dining by the river - nothing better! :-)

English summers - relaxing in the park Let's set off! Lester enjoying his new hammock Excited to do donkey leading! New vege gardens Eco Village!

Cycle survey for Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park

Tonight people were giving out surveys to cyclists through Hyde Park.  It’s a great survey, all about the cycle routes and asking for feedback on the tricky spots for cyclists.  If you cycle through Kensington Gardens and/or Hyde Park and missed the volunteers then I have the survey here as a PDF that you can download and print.  Then just send back by 18th June to:
Camden Consultancy Service,
125-133 Camden High Street
London NW1 7JR

I’m definitely going to use this as my chance to air my agnst about the trickiness of getting West-East along the Northern edges of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, the Victoria Gate and how they should definitely have a cycle lane along the north walkway in Kensington Gardens to avoid the legal route of 3 intersections and going around 2 city blocks which only people with super-human patience takes!

But these niggles aside, cycling is definitely the fastest and cheapest way to get around London, not to mention the fitness you get - I love it!
